This role will be a crucial figure within our growing engineering function. This has an integral role in our growth plan and will help shape the future of our infrastructure, as well as our build, deployment, and monitoring processes. You will have the autonomy to improve the day-to-day operation of a mature, well-tested application regularly used by thousands of people. The successful candidate will work closely with our Platform Team Manager and existing platform engineers to solve challenges and implement solutions.
Main responsibilities include:
Build, improve and maintain infrastructure using AWS, Terraform, Python and related tools
Contribute to secure, reliable CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes across environments
Work with senior engineers to support infrastructure design and decision-making
Take responsibility for delivering your work, raising blockers early and asking questions when needed
Proactively identify and resolve issues, and participate in debugging and performance improvements
Collaborate with your team to improve tooling and platform reliability
Contribute to documentation, observability and automation efforts to improve platform quality
Stay informed about the tools and technologies we use, and be open to learning and applying new ones
Support the team in achieving shared goals and maintaining a strong engineering culture

AWS: ECS, Lambda, RDS, S3, Opensearch, Elasticache, Secrets Manager
Infrastructure: Terraform for infrastructure as code, Docker for containerisation
CI/CD: GitHub Actions for automated builds and deployments
Scripting: Python and shell for tools and automation
Monitoring & Observability: Datadog and AWS CloudWatch
Application stack: Laravel (PHP) and VueJS
